Atheists tyryto sell their religion of non-religion to me by telling me on TV, and all liberal venues, that I'm deluded, nuts, and irrational. Just like I can't prove that God exists, you can't prove that he doesn't exist.

I don't own a TV anymore, so I have no idea what these horrible atheists are telling you.

I don't know what a "liberal venue" is, can you give an example...?

I guess I just don't understand the conservative mentality...as hard as I try I just don't understand it.

As long as he doesn't start telling us God is telling him to send us on a war mission, no big deal

If you're asking such questions, like many liberals do, then no answer is needed, because you can't comprehend something very basic like what I said

Typical non-answer...something conservatives here on C-D are very good at.

Atheists Can't prove that god doesn't exists, they just follow what we have as evidence. YOU are making the claim that a god exists without evidence.. the burden of proof is upon you.. not others to prove you wrong...
Fact is.. nobody knows.. but there is logic to atheist views.. what logic is there in believing something with no evidence to support it just "feelings"

I can feel like things are a certain way.. but it doesn't make them so..

It is growing more but I don't see it reflected in politics today.

I read an article on how during bad times, poor and middle class people become more right wing. (not thinking for themselves) You would think they would start sticking up for themselves but the opposite is true...they let their base instincts stand out...fear, tribalism, religious dogma, etc.

I really think society is moving AWAY from religion...
They're are trends in the other direction. ...States,making it more difficult to get an abortion, Federal funds for religious counselors, state laws outlawing gay marriage and partner benefits, pushing ID in public schools. Mandating Bible literature courses, etc.

On another note, This is the latest ARIS survey that shows non-religious affiliation still growing in the USA but it may be leveling off.

8% in 1990, 14% in 2001, and 15% in 2008

Lotta religious threads today.

I'm a conservative atheist. I tend to lump Christians, Muslims, Commies, Liberals, some aspects of Hinduism, Socialists, and Moon-Bat greenies into one big pile of irrationality. I can tolerate Buddhists but they're not far from the heap.

I have found that few leftists are actually atheist. They are agnostic. They still have blind faith in something but haven't found a religion that fits their belief system. Someone who is truly rational couldn't possibly fall for half the farcical dogma being regurgitated on the left side of the fence. Most in my opinion are deeply devoted to the religion of leftism but fail to recognize it as a belief system.

To be honest I think you're all a bit nuts and I find both sides more than a bit disturbing. But since I live in a world that offers me the option of having to choose between two irrational ideologies, I choose to side with the right because they have a very slight edge on being able to face reality. Just like at election time I must choose the lesser of two weevils.

Most young people I meet are athiest or non-religious with an anti-Christian bias, Interestingly most feel defensive towards Islam. They seem to have no idea how much Islam conflicts with their cultural liberalism.
