So to borrow from what HappyTexan stated, if they don't participate in the Federal Lunch Program they would still need to provide lunches for low income students that decided to enroll in the district? They would need some sort of storage facilities to store the prepared lunches.
I'm not trying to be combative, and I'm not necessarily for or against school choice. I'm just trying to understand how it would work in actuality. In theory, it sounds great.
If they had a child enroll in their school from their school district tomorrow, who qualified for the Federal lunch program tomorrow ,they would have to figure it out.
Again it doesn't seem unreasonable for the school to somehow aquire a lunch for the incredibly few children who may enter a school district that don't already have kids who qualify for the program. I can't tell you that Fran from the office would call Vito's deli and have a chicken sandwich deivered, but it would be something like that.
Then they are going to need "nice" clothes of they are being driven to better school districts.
Clothing allowance !
No uniforms and we even had a uniform closet in our little Catholic school that was filled with gently used uniforms! The devil is always in the details...but we better start paying on the front end for a change instead of the backend

I went to Catholic school as well.
"Plaid" is a dirty word to me and to this day refuse to wear any

But they don't participate in the Federal Lunch program and never have.
Private/Catholic schools have been educating kids successfully for alot less then public schools for many years!Vouchers are a good solution for parents stuck in a bad school system.
The reason that parochial schools can spend less per child is the low pay of the teachers.
Those teachers are in parochial schools because it's a low pressure teaching environment.
The parents are better because they have a stake in their child's education.
They can also launch kids that are disciplinary problems.
They don't suffer fools.
That would all come crumbling down if a bunch of public school kids invaded.

Many of your points are valid. The pay is lower. However, hopefully parents with vouchers would also tend to be more involved and as far as behavior problems have you ever met Catholic school teachers? I would have said nuns but there aren't many left these days
Democrats (including Al Sharpton) were against them before they were for them!!
How quickly things change. This used to be something that Democrats accused Republicans of backing.
BTW.....lying about your home address and cheating a school district out of the money that pays to teach your kid is FRAUD.
