On June 2, 1924, Coolidge signed the Indian Citizenship Act, which granted full U.S. citizenship to all American Indians, while permitting them to retain tribal land and cultural rights. Coolidge repeatedly called for anti-lynching laws to be enacted, but most Congressional attempts to pass this legislation were filibustered by Southern Democrats.
He also released the remaining Sedition Act violators convicted during the Wilson administration.
Agreed. Eisenhower wasn't bad and I would characterize him as relatively conservative. However, he only didn't intervene in the Suez because he was hedging his bets with the Saudis. He was also appauled by the Israel invasion of Egypt, but didn't want to lose the Jewish vote. Eisenhower was for supporting Hungary before he was against it. Not that I'm bothered that he didn't help, he was just two faced about it.
Eisenhower, a conservative? Fate may have forced him to be one, but I don't think he was in his heart. When it was in his heart, he was too afraid to show it.

Haven't met a Kansas politician who ever was a true Conservative yet. Conservatism is simply not in the blood of the state's history.
It's just too bad Coolidge didn't organize a community. He'd be considered much more hip by the GenX and GenY bubbleheads.
