A report of spontaneous fetal death for each spontaneous fetal death which occurs in this state shall be filed with the local registrar of the county in which the delivery occurred within 72 hours after such delivery in accordance with this Code section unless the place of fetal death is unknown, in which case a fetal death certificate shall be filed in the county in which the dead fetus was found within 72 hours after such occurrence. All induced terminations of pregnancy shall be reported in the manner prescribed in Code Section 31-10-19. Preparation and filing of reports of spontaneous fetal death shall be as follows:

(1) When a dead fetus is delivered in an institution, the person in charge of the institution or that person's designated representative shall prepare and file the report;

(2) When a dead fetus is delivered outside an institution, the physician in attendance at or immediately after delivery shall prepare and file the report;

(3) When a spontaneous fetal death required to be reported by this Code section occurs without medical attendance at or immediately after the delivery or when inquiry is required by Article 2 of Chapter 16 of Title 45, the 'Georgia Death Investigation Act,' the proper investigating official shall investigate the cause of fetal death and shall prepare and file the report within 30 days;

HB*1*(Summary)*2011-2012 Regular Session
So, Georgia ladies, be prepared. If Bobby Franklin has his way, and you suffer a spontaneous miscarriage at home, the police will be required by law to interrogate you for possible murder charges.

Of course, that means more bureaucracy, bigger government, massive new spending and more government intrusion into your personal lives, all of which Republicans are supposedly against. But nevermind that, you may have committed murder when you lost your pregnancy, so it's totally okay to spend taxpayer dollars on this critical and vital public service!

Wow, that is just plain crazy given the number of spontaneous abortions that NATURALLY current in the human race. Where is the money going to come from for all these investigations? We have a lot more important places to spend tax payers dollars!

Great! Maybe when the woman misses her first period she should be required to get a social security card for the fertilized egg.

Great idea and then we should send her off to a "breeding farm" where she can be confided to bed for the next 8 1/2 months. Can't have any potential miscarry/murderers running around.

"God" creates a lot of defects. Are these pious nuts going to investigate god for murder? If so, sounds fair.

I suspect that given the speed of the above posts that not a single one with the possible exception of the OP even bothered to read the full text of the ten pages of the bill. But hey, don't let that slow you from slinging hyperbole.

Please explain to me how the full text of the bill makes any difference. Thanks.

If you were to read the full text of the bill, you would discover that this is an anti-abortion bill, basically stating that the US Supreme Court does not have the authority under the US Constitution to make prevent states from making laws against abortion.

Dude, I read the whole bill. How do you think I got through enough of it to get the relevant section to my OP? I know what the bill is about. What does that have to do with the portion that would have all spontaneous miscarriages reportable to the state, and if they occur anyplace outside of a medical facility, to be investigated by authorities as potential MURDERS?

You did read the part that affords personhood to a 2-cell zygote, right?
