Here is a video talking about the problems Aussies are having with their government concerning gun ownership. I like the words of the last person being interviewed. He says just what we will find as soon as they can find a way to abolish our second amendment.

Is there a chance that you could stop fear mongering? The second amendment will NOT BE ABOLISHED.

It is not just the constitution amendment.

There are over 200 MILLION* gun pieces in private hands in the US ALREADY. Including some pretty high powered machinery.

Good luck confiscating all that.

It's all water under the bridge now in any case, guns are here to stay. That is all.

* ps That is just 'registered legal' guns for the 'square' people, the actual number is much higher

I see that you don't read the same things about Obama that I do. Did the Dems lose their champion for abolishing of the 2nd Amendment when Teddy Kennedy died?

The average firearms owner in the US is not the fervent 2nd Amendment supporter and likely would, as happened in Australia, peacefully submit to confiscation by a tyrannical central government.

I would hope that Americans would be smarter than this but the knee jerk legislation submitted and under consideration since the Tucson murders would prove otherwise.

Rights are destroyed by a thousand papercuts, not abolished all at once.

Vigilance in keeping our government within it's Constitutional jurisdiction is required if we are to remain mostly free.

I wonder how many have answered my question after watching the video. I bet it hasn't gained many views, so far. There is a part of it that shows the numbers of crimes that have occurred in Australia since the guns were banned. Very interesting set of numbers. Also, the people who have had their peace at home interrupted by people with guns breaking in tell some good stories.

Probably not....however, cities keep trying or already have such laws. So in effect, the 2nd Amendment is being chiseled away.

You should consult the United States Supreme Court regarding the 2nd Amendment. That should allieviate your concerns.
