A better title to this thread could have been:

Why are Democrats siding with special interest groups and against the taxpayers and the democratic way in Wisconsin?

I don't think it has anything to do with Republicans. It has to do with government employees whose compensation is way out of control and some people wanting to bring them in line with the rest of the state.

Why do YOU want them to struggle so you can have everything??

Requiring people to help fund their OWN retirement plan is the norm... it's not making people struggle.

Contrary to these teachers, most wealthy people DO fund their own retirement plans.

Yes, and, through loopholes that their armies of lawyers find, (legal and some not so much), they do NOT PAY IT!

Actually it doesn't take an "army of lawyers" to find the tax deductions that our Big Government has put into the tax laws. They are really easy to find. Most of them came about due to political agendas that try to mold corporate behavior.

You applaud the protection of the upper 2% of the wealthiest people in America....it hasn't helped the economy but you keep supporting the people who protect THEM.
Too many of the American people have forgotten the worker abuses, unsafe workplaces and hard line negotiation practices that dominated America before the advent of unions. The corporations are obviously pushing for a second Gilded Age in America and many Americans who have obviously forgotten history are willing to let the corporations have their way.

Can they? No they cannot. A teacher cannot go to the school board or priciple and ask for a raise or change in benefits, hench they form unions to do it for them all.

On the other hand, corporations and billionaires can hire an army of lobbysits and, as the supreme court ruled last year, can pump unlimited funds into political campaigns.

They want very badly to wipe out this last vestige of public influence. It's just about the only thing standing between them and the all-out oligarchy they and the GOP want so much.

If the GOP wins in Wisconsin, it's a big victory for the corporations who have moved our jobs to China and hired Mexican replacement workers by the millions.

What will it take for the public to wake up?

Absolutely this, in a nutshell.

They have not forgotten but the Pawns (GOP) are doing the bidding of those that used such business practices for their own profit, their Masters and Owners. All one has to do is look at the posts on such subjects on this or any other discussion board and yu will se the righties ALWAYS take the side of their real Masters, big business and the rich.
