I thought they were against the government and pro joe six packs? Now they seem to believe that if the government tells you do to something, teachers should abide by it, no questions asked?

I'm not a WI'ite but didn't many WI voters elect gov't officials who said they would curtail gov't spending and reduce the size of their gov't?

Doesn't it take the elected gov't officials themselves to curtail gov't spending and reduce the size of their gov't?

Who else would they vote for?

If WI had elected nothing but Democrats how would they handle WI's current fiscal condition.

B.c they don't want more of their tax dollars being wasted on lazy teachers...

There are plenty more energetic and just as smart teachers that would work for much less than the steal the current teachers are getting.

The WI teachers that are protesting know how lucky they are/hopefully were, to have a job where it is almost impossible to get fired from.

Kids do not get a free ride on the tests, and neither should teachers..

This is actually trying to make gov't smaller. Not bigger.

The WI GOP legislators are siding with the taxpayers and their rights over the unions demand to push salary and benefit increases by without taxpayer approval. Pretty simple really.

If you think teachers are so overpaid and lazy, then get off your bovine behind and become one. Of course, you're going to accept a lower salary, right?

Last I heard there was still a stack of young teachers looking for first jobs. Not sure what the problem with suppling energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable teachers would be.

"All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters."

Teachers aren't pro Joe Six Pack, that's a misconception their union would like you believe.
Joe six pack and his family are subject to changes in the economy and must act appropriately to survive.
Public sector unions selfishly protect a class of people from these same economic realities, thus making it even harder for the Joe Six Packs to get by.
As you can see,Joe Six Pack and his family are harmed the greatest in this big lie.
