I'm sure you said the same thing to the Republicans (in the Senate), when they filibustered to avoid voting on issues they didn't like and knew would be passed by the majority.

They were exercising their constitutional rights and duties by engaging in democracy. The WI state senators are avoiding their duties by fleeing the state and acting like 3 years olds throwing a temper tantrum because they aren't getting their way. If you cannot see the difference, then perhaps your teachers growing up did you a disservice. Filibustering is a democratic process, fleeing the state is not.

Avoiding a vote, no matter what the method, is avoiding the vote.

Either they are both wrong, or both right.

Still only a small fraction of the millions the governor's idiotic policies have laid the ground for. Yet, he is a hero to you all.

Why can't you all be (even) a little bit honest about what this is really about... union busting.

Bravo to the Gov. Here is my issue with Unions today. They certainly had their place back in the day of child labor, but today they only protect the incompetent. The unions pushed this Marxist into the white house and he did say he wanted to redistribute the wealth. That is well and good, but I think the fat salaried union members should tighten their belts and bleed a little with the private sector. Seriously, do some of these huge retirements need to be? How much can a person get by on? Why should we in the private sector be whittled down to food stamps and the union plumbers live like kings? The rabble is awakened and starting to feed.

Riiiiiiiiiight. One group showed up to work to be engaged in the democratic process and one fled the state to avoid it. Yup, they're the same alright.

He's trying to balance the budget and lay the framework for a solvent state for years to come. What has his dem predecessor done other than take the union's campaign contributions and kick the can down the road?

Of course this is about the union itself. What more corrupt a system could you possible fathom than one in which a special interest group is allowed to forcibly extract thousands of dollars from those they supposedly represent to donate to the very people who will decide upon and approve their pay and benefits. Quite the symbiotic relationship rife with corruption, don't you think? Unions get the democrats elected, the democrats once in power reward the unions with these lavish contracts far in excess of what the private sector dictates. So yes, this is about breaking the union stronghold over the teachers and allowing them to decide for themselves if they want to continue to line the pockets of the union mobster bosses. And that is a good thing, yes.

Don't forget communists also, but of course we all know the distinction is nil between them and fascists.
