Chris Hedges has written about this in his book entitled Death of The Liberal Class. Dr. Michael Parenti has been writing about this since his book entitled Democracy for the Few.
The future racial and ethnic demographics of the United States clearly work against the interest of Conservative Americans. That is why they are working furiously to deny as much political and economic opportunity to people who don't look like them, act like them, and worship like them.

Just listen to conservative whitebread radio. They are in mortal fear of the growing Hispanic, Arab, and black populations (although they try to disguise it with diatribes against "extremists", "illegals", etc).
They won't say what they really mean. Yet, Hannity etal. accuse the "left" of cowardice in not saying what it really means in its statements. Who are the real cowards.
Notice how these wealthy Fox pundits love war but are happy to send the lower classes, including minorities, off to fight.
Yep, the great American "voice of conservatism"!
BTW I notice on this forum, if you ask right-wingers for data, clarification, something besides platitudes, you seldom get a follow-up. They know extremely well what they don't like, but care about little else.

GOP elected 2 hispanic governor in November, they have 2 Asian governors, they elected many hispanic/black representants/senators.
They understood, that won't be so easy.

Is this really true? The hispanic population of the United States is quite conservative, no?

I think its something of a myth that a "changing population" (which the US has always had) necessarily leads to the changes you are talking about

While cultural change is analysed a lot - by both those on the right and left - cultural continuity is often overlooked. One of the interesting things is how the new-england/puritan type mindset in the north-east replenished itself over the last 150+ years despite great ethnic change as the region became more catholic, more irish, more italian, more jewish, more greek. Despite these changes, people still think of New Englanders in the same kind of way

Basically, I think Conservative and Liberal Americans have been with us since the 17th century and I don't see either of them going away any time soon

Aside from that it's an interesting article.I don't think liberalism will die, but it'll decline (same thing for the social conservatives, both can't fit in a moderate nation)
It can't die unless you mean to revise the writings of founders. This nation was founded by liberals and conservatives alike. It's an intrinsic part of who we are and you can not separate your mothers DNA from your body anymore than you can your fathers.

Conservative know this and they are TERRIFIED. That is why you are seeming them be so aggressive in their policies and actions. They want to put policies and laws into place it will take years to reverse in order to maintain social, economic and political power.

In the short term the Conservatives are going to win some battles. But in the long term they are going to lose the war.

LOL, wrong again.

The most important news and commentary to read right now. - The Slatest - Slate Magazine (http://slatest.slate.com/id/2278743/ - broken link)

"Electoral power may shift from Democratic to Republican strongholds as the U.S. doles out its 435 House seats according to census data released on Tuesday, reports the Wall Street Journal."

Demographics very much favor conservatives in electoral politics!

Conservative minded people are on an increase.

Independents are more conservative minded then ever before.

Liberalism has declined just since the gift of Obama came along.

November elections proved that democrats are not very well liked in America with the beat down they got.

I have said for a long time that the end of liberalism and the end of liberals running things in America is about the end.

The gift of Obama has helped the conservative movement grow. Great timing at this time in our history to have a total radical lefty screwing up everything he touches.

Bye bye liberalism in America.

20% and dropping of liberals in America proves it.

41% of conservatives in America proves it.

There are MORE TEA PARTY MEMBERS in America then liberals.
