My only assumption is that he's waiting until he knows the Americans are safe and secure. Don't want to blurt out anything that may put them in jeopardy. He definitely should condemn Ghadaffi....when the time is right.
Surely obama could speak up like he did in Egypt? Oh, that's right! He was throwing a 30 year ally under the bus in Egypt.
"Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the Libyan government was responsible for the bloodshed, which she called “completely unacceptable.” But with the United States not yet able to get its diplomats out of the country, she said, “the safety and well-being of Americans has to be our highest priority.”"
I hope Obama does nothing but squawk and comdemn the actions of Ghadaffi. We only get like 1% of our oil from Libya let the countries that get the 99% get involved if they feel compelled to spread democracy and freedom. I know the neo cons are chomping at the bit for another war and occupation, you know we broke it now we have to fix it. We have no money and huge problems of our own, the last thing we need is building up another countries infrastructure on borrowed money.
Lets not break a thing and not spend a dime and keep our troops out of harms way.
Another Obama-hating inquiry. If he said more, Pubs would criticize him for saying too much. If he says little, Pubs would criticize him for saying too little. If his response was perfect, Pubs wouldn't acknowledge or even recognize it.
President Obama is the catalyst for CHANGE, and that is precisely what is going on around the world. These are great times. Rather than intruding as Bush/Pubs like to do in the affairs of others, Obama is letting the people of those countries exact change in their own manner. His strategy is of course right.
The Pub narrative on the other hand, continues to miss the mark.
Gaddafi is already blaming the USA for what is occurring and with that being said, the last thing Obama needs to do is to add fuel to the madman's fire. Just another thread to Obama bash. Surprising that he is not being blamed fopr the earthquakes in NZ.
What do you expect Obama to say ?
Would anything he says change anything on the ground in Libya ?
What would you say ?
What would you do ?
Are you saying you don't believe that the President should speak out against him?
I don't know if it would change anything but it would certainly reinforce our countries disapproval of this madman.
His silence if deafening. And again shows the wrong man if in office.
