thabk you rick scott for killing off the high speed rail boondoggle! everyone knows that it would cost way more than they're saying. everyone knows that the insurance against losses is just another AIG type scam. everyone knows that nobody would ride it. everyone knows this because amtrak already services these cities as do buses. the fact that so few people use the EXISTING infrastructure is proof that very few will get out of their cars and go by train!
i wonder if anyone who has ever been to tampa or orlando thought this was a good idea? i wonder if they had any more bright ideas as to how people were going to get around once they arrived in tampa or orlando?

it took incredible courage for him to stand up against this. even republican state senators have criticised his decision it just goes to to show how pervasive keynesian ideas are. i wish that more people understood that the money these high speed railers want has to come from somewhere. whether it comes from the federal govt or the state, is irrelevant, because we're the ones who will pay for it. the money we use to pay for such boondoggles is money which we therefore can't spend in our own communities. i just wish more people undertood bastiat than keynes

Because we all know that sheeple are clamoring to get from one side of the peninsula to the other at record time, and have no car to get around at the other side.

High speed rail may be ok for certain parts of the NE corridor, but it's epic fail in more open areas and only appeals to nostalgic hostel hoppin' Euro-backpackers.

Actually, the GOP (yes, GOP) members of the Florida legislature hammered out the high speed rail deal that would have resulted in minimal financial risk for the Florida taxpayer. But of course the knee jerk reaction from the uninformed TPers is "good job!"

Oh, and By The Way, he exceeded his consttutional authority in killing the deal.

So, thank you Governor Scott, for refusing 25,000 jobs.

Next up, he wants to repeal legislation for a database registering pill mills.

Brilliant!!!

Fixed that for ya.
