Why was the federal government not a responsible steward of the funded Social Security Trust Fund? Irresponsible politicians is the answer in both cases. I could say criminal without feeling much guilt.

Thumbs down Christie: Expect states across the nation to follow Wisconsin on public-sector costs

There's definitely a pattern here among these new GOP governors.

First, give big tax breaks to cut revenue. Then, announce that the resulting deficit is a "budget crisis." Then, blame teachers, firefighters, police, and other public employees.

More of this insane right wing demonizing of fellow citizens. I've never seen a time when so many nutbags have held the microphone to announce to America that "Americans are your enemy!"

This has been a pattern of the GOP for a long time. It's just that now(temporarily) they feel they have the power to walk over the middle class of the Country, and shift as much more to the "truly" deserving that they can.

Links to three recent instances of 'nutbags' holding microphones and saying the phrase you quoted please.

Stop the Ed Schultz lies.

No one has hurt the middle class more then Obama and his job killing agenda.

If anyone has killed the middle class in America is would be the left and their insane over taxing the business ways.

The middle class getting hurt is just a made up lie by he left because they have nothing else to say.

Since when are most union members making 20.00 per hour middle class?

Most union members I know make well over 100k per year with free benefits etc.

Obama and Biden said the middle class was those who make under 250k, are you going to move the goal post again to back up the fleebaggers lies?

Not one single person has proven what the GOP Governors is doing will effect the middle class. What is wrong will not going bankrupt? Or is it a liberal thing to just go bankrupt and run away from your responsibilities.

Why has the Dem Governors allowed their states to go so far into debt putting their people at risk?

This middle class BS is a leftist anti American LIE.

In case Ed or Rachael has not told you, in most cases if you cut taxes you increase revenue coming in.

Ssshh don't tell anyone.

Do you know what happens when you do nothing? Look at the liberal run states and you will find your answer.

Except that this is a right wing fraud that you have bought in to... Read something that didn't come from the Heritage foundation or right wind propaganda sites and you might learn something.

FactCheck.org: Supply-side Spin

This doesn't even pass the common sense test, yet, the right wing repeats it ad nauseum, as instructed.

If states have a budget crisis, they can go back to the bargaining table and work with the employees to make concessions--that's NOT the same thing as gutting collective bargaining rights, and the radical right R's know it.

Let's talk about that budget crisis shall we--do you think it's really the union pension plans, or the fact that WE WERE ON THE VERGE OF A DEPRESSION. We gutted the regulation of wallstreet and bankers that let them take huge risks with OUR money (while they make million dollar salaries and bonuses), and they created a nightmare. What about the big business leeches that are sucking this country dry through corporate welfare?

The MINUTE that this batch of R's take those issues seriously, I'll listen, but until then I'm going to call this for what it is--a very thinly and ripped veil attempt to gut the unions. This has nothing to do with the budget and they know it. The unions have agreed to every concession Walker asked for in Wisconsin. All Walker has to do is back down on gutting collective bargaining, and the Senators come back, and the state can work on getting back to business. It's all on his shoulders.

Keep telling yourself that. But while unions might not be completed busted, they certainly won't have the out of control power that they have right now.

Since you know unions so well, explain to me why they have to force people to join? If unions are so awesome, wouldn't everyone join if they had a choice?
