Virginia took a big step Thursday toward eliminating most of the state's 21 abortion clinics, approving a bill that would likely make rules so strict the medical centers would be forced to close, Democrats and abortion rights supporters said.

Pro abortionists already claim they need abortion legal to stop woman from being hurt by back ally abortion. this bill does not stop abortion it just makes sure that in clinics where abortions are done have the same standards of safety are in effect as medical facilities that do eye surgery and colonscopies. So if it is a medical procedure the left should have no problems with standards of safety

This is a BIG win for those pro-abortion folks. They are sooo worried about the health of women and now they will get the best of care, just like a hospital. No more of those abortion mills.

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, who supported similar legislation as a state senator, said he believes the law would be constitutional.

"For over 25 years, Virginia abortion clinics have not been held to minimal health and safety standards," he said. "As a result, women who walk into these clinics are often not treated with the care and respect that any human being deserves."
I'm wondering how the women of virginia feel about this 'caring' cuccinelli. How many complaints were registered for 25 yrs by these women? <crickets>

Is it possible for males to be responsible for anything at all besides meddle/ control women? This is practically OCD.

So setting the same safety standards that people get for eye surgery and colonscopies is men meddling. I thought we were trying to get rid of unsafe environments for woman. I guess you would prefer unsafe conditions for abortions

All they're doing is making abortion clinics have hospital like standards. Seems fair if you want to kill your child.

I will break it down for you.

1. Virginia passed a law regarding abortion.

2. This law essentially requires abortion clinics to meet state "hospital standards"

3. These standards are higher and safer standards than abortion clinics.

4. Currently not many clinics, I believe meet these standards.

5. Our Attorny General specifically stated that abortion was the law of the land regardless of his political affiliation, but that clinics are going to be held to these hosptial standards.

6. Since abortion is killing your child involving a totally unnatural process (like opening someone up for surgury), I believe it's a fair law that these clinics at least have hospital like standards. Why should abortion clinics get by with lower standards?
