They have already agreed to every financial concession the Governor asked for, including paying more of their own money to fund that retirement benefit.

Of course, this has never actually been about the retirement benefits, or the budget deficit. It has always been about union busting.

Walker proved that when he accepted an additional $167 million loss to the state rather than negotiate.

That was the DOD and if the Repubs had been really serious about budget cutting THAT is where they would have started, so far they have not gone after them, hmmmmm.

Talking To Be a Teacher in Wisconsin: What a Great Deal! What a Great SCAM, Bilking the Taxpayer!

Of course!

Teachers are your enemy. For decades, everyone has known that the schools are the place to be if you want a fat bank account and cushy benefits.

And NO problem with corporations, the Koch brothers, the Bradley group backing/funding individuals running for office?

Then THEY rule.

Majority in Poll Back Employees in Public Sector Unions

Quote:
Americans oppose weakening the bargaining rights of public employee unions by a margin of nearly two to one: 60 percent to 33 percent. While a slim majority of Republicans favored taking away some bargaining rights, they were outnumbered by large majorities of Democrats and independents who said they opposed weakening them.

$100,005/ 180 days /6 hours per day /30 students = $3.09 per student per hour.

Actually the average is around $51k (after at least 10 years of service), but entry is $26k. But Answer me this: What other employee is required to attain a Masters Degree to keep their job and then is told to take a pay cut after doing so?

How about we go after the Police. They retire after 20 years and then get retirement benefits for the next 50ish years. How about we make them work until 65, cut their benefits and pay them no OT. And then also if they want to go to a higher rank that they must attain a Masters Degree. And once they attain it, we give them a paycut.

Its just too easy to attack teachers.

Just look at what collective bargaining has given this union.

The numbers are staggering..and outrageous.

Pensions, completely paid for.

Contributions for pensions and SS - 22.6 cents for each dollar of salary. Guess how much private sector is? 13.4%. Is there a reason public sector employees deserves such lucrative deals?

But that's not the worst of it.

The WEA has a monopoly on providing HC insurance to it's members, making a tidy sum in the process, over charging the taxpayer in the process.

How Milton schools saved a bundle - of your money

By breaking the monopoly.

Incredible. The union hold HC benefits hostage with their monopoly, costing the taxpayer million of dollar a year.

I think Walker mentioned this as well - $68 million would be saved if the union's monopoly ended.

I just have to ask; Can anyone, anyone at all, JUSTIFIED the numbers in here?

When we actually delve into the numbers and facts, can anyone really defend this?

You might want to rethink this. Nobody who is a teacher is getting overpaid for the work they do.

The alternative? educate your own stupid kids.

Why not find another boogeyman, Sanrene, this one is worn out.

Since Walker passed out $152 million in tax cuts to corporations, your argument isn't weak. It's nonexistent.

The bills also would add about $152 million to the state's budget shortfall already projected to be about $3 billion by the middle of 2013.
