NationalJournal.com - McCain's Shift Makes Him Senate's Most Conservative - Thursday, February 24, 2011

Looks like McCain is no longer a moderate or a maverick. He's a hard-right conservative now.

I think McCain is going senile, he doesn't know where he is.

McCain conservative? LOL! He's straddled so far across the fence I wouldn't be surprised he is a eunuch now.

His voting record doesn't lie. McCain is a hard-right conservative now.

The fact that some still see him as a moderate demonstrates how far to the right Republicans have gone.

wait... how is this test measured?

are we confusing the word 'conservative' with the actual word of 'republican'?

republican issues are very un-conservative in the 21st century

Not according to his voting record.

Calling him a liberal doesn't make it true, no matter how many times you say it.

McCain was NEVER a liberal. He was never really a moderate either, he was never in the mold of Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins. He was more of a pragmatic conservative. He had a generally conservative record, but wasn't a hard-liner and would work across party lines. That is the type of candidate he was in 2000, and pretty much what he represented till around 06 or 07. When he ran for President he shifted quite hard to the right, and after being challenged last year to the right by Abramoff's buddy Hayworth he shifted pretty hard to the right again.
