Unions are a holdover from a previous time in history, yet you seem bound and determined to go backwards. I am curious why such a desire for regress exists.
Hmmm, after reading posts here from the right saying that they would like to:
End Child Labor Laws
Get rid of the EPA
Get rid of minimum wage laws
Stop desegregation
Cut funds to public radio and television
Get rid of SS
Get rid of Medicare
Get rid of Welfare
Stop ALL social programs
Get rid of the school lunch program
Cut Education funds
Get rid of business regulations
Remove the right of women to chose
Kill off all unions
Disallow allow gays to serve their nation, marry or live openly in public
And those are just a couple of examples the list goes on and on and on.
But from reading all that on this board I would have to conclude it is the right-wingers that want to take us backwards

Why ANYONE would be surprised by what the talking heads from the right have to say is beyond me, they have been proven to be Hypocrites that will say anything just so long as it draws in more ratings meaning More Money for them

Wrong, they CHOSE a profession that was UNION. It was THEIR CHOICE!
In a free country we should be able to try and work in any profession we choose as long as we are qualified and have an offer of a job. Having to get approval of a third party who wants us to pay for the privilege of employment doesn’t sound right to me.

Spot on! And I CHALLENGE those of you who say this is NOT true to give examples showing conservatives or republicans doing the opposite of the listed issues.

They KNEW this industry they WANTED to be part of was union and the only reason they GET competitive wages is because of the UNIONS and their work in the past.
They SHOULD have went into another media forum than TV/Radio you can still be a Journalist in Print, no union required.
There is a problem with conservatives doing any job from what I gather. You KNOW the job duties when you study in College so if you cannot perform them then find another career. OB/GYNs should be required to give abortions and all Nurses should be required to help and all Pharmacists should be required to give RU486 pills even if it goes against what they "Believe" because one persons access to LEGAL healthcare should not be trumped by another personal beliefs as long as it is LEGAL.

So people should not be allowed to change their minds after college?
Rush gets $20 million a year because of the Union?
Only those who have the belief in the use of collective force should be allowed into TV/ Radio?
Sounds like you want to get to the point where only one way of thinking is acceptable and then use the power of government to force conformity.
