I think he'd get better feedback holding town halls and hearing directly from the people. (Assuming, of course, that he's not going to cherry pick the attendees.)

Regular folk is where reality is -- where the rubber meets the road. Governors would also do well to get input from their citizens.

49 governors went to the White House. Guess who is so disrespectful by not showing up?
His northern comrade who was smiling at mickey mouse during the snow storm in his state was shaking his big head sideways when the President was speaking to the governors.

You get what you give.
Obama was disrespectful in commenting on a state issue thus undermining the governor's authority.

absolutely nothing0--or at least nothing he'll take seriously. He held a similar photo-op meeting to meet with business leaders in an effort to look like he cared.

Hopes dashed.

It was naive to think that Obama actually wanted to *listen* to the governors. Turns out he wanted to tell them (actually warned them) not to weaken the HC bill and to not "vilify" government workers. And should the the protesters be vilified? After all, they are the people paying the bills.

President Barack Obama has told the nation's governors that they can enforce his health care reform on their own terms. But Obama warned that they cannot weaken the law. He also urged governors not to vilify their own states' public workers.

Unlike, of course, the way the Democratic party and its leaders (including Mr. President) did with Conservatives and citizens at large who eventually swelled in numbers and spurred the growth of the TEA Party. What was it, again, Ms. Pelosi, that you called them?
