I wouldn't be shocked by the Volt, it's been on it's way for a decade.
Like the Prius, it will never attract a wide audience. Hopefully it will make some technical advances

When I see The Goreacle, the David's and the rest of the GW-hypocrites riding around in a prius and giving up their 20,000 sf mansions and their private jets, maybe I'll consider one.
