SHOULD protesters have the right to be anywhere they like and mke as muck noise as they like America, GET A GRIP! Verbal assault.....when and where.......can be limited by the Sates. Why should protestors be allow to picket and scream and yell in a Funeral or even near a Funeral.......why can't this garbage stop, No matter what the issue people should have a right to peace and quiet. Maybe unless it is a public event,,,,,,then a court order should be required, Some one should be able to mediate...........1000 feet from a funeral?....We don't need to take down the constitution to solve a mental problem. MENTAL.........pure hate a by some folks associated with the WESTBORO Baptist CHURCH.............shame on you...........hatred .is not the Way. Give them a Ticket, and band them from filing frivolous cases. They are wasting everyone time and public funds. Band Phelps from Protesting.....give him a drug test........Do all Baptist condone this hatred..........?

Is this or is this not America?

Westboro might be a distasteful group but this IS America...

Who determines what constitutes hate speech? SCOTUS ultimately does, not you and not me...

Since they upset you so much how many letters have you written to this church letting them know your feelings? Your Congressmen? Your Senator? The President?

Odds are your answer will be ZERO.........

People like you are a dime a dozen, ***** ***** moan groan but actually DO SOMETHING about it?

NOPE

They need to privatize the sidewalks and "public" areas around cemeteries, or figure out a way to do it temporarily.

For example, back in the early 90's the sidewalks on the Vegas strip used to filled with guys passing out flyer's for "escorts", it was very annoying and caused TONS of litter. The city ended up having the resorts privatize the sidewalks and the problem vanished.

This needs to be looked at as a solution.

1st Amendment trumps feelings and protects scumbags like the Westboro bigots. If the cemetery is private they can prevent the protesters from coming in.

You can always go in front of their church and protest.

No. I don't think this is what "free speech" is about. Not that anyone really cares what I think.

Keep in mind that the members of that church are all related, no more distant than cousin.
