Yes all those that piled on the unemployment benefit list, are now off. Did they find a job, or did their benefits run out and they are still sitting at home? Where is the distinction????????????????

8% is the magic number. Get unemployment down to 8% and that will be a selling point to re-election.
Yup, I tend to agree with that. Under 8% would show a lot of improvement - and I'm pretty certain that will happen. I think it will actually happen BEFORE the end of THIS year and that by election time the UE rate will be closer to 7% than it will be to 8%.

The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for December was revised from +121,000
to +152,000, and the change for January was revised from +36,000 to +63,000.
And those new business likely will have mulitple employees of SOME amount (even it's only 2 each - that MORE than enough new jobs to make up the the increase in population) - and of course that's entirely separate from any existing companies that may increase their hiring.
I don’t personally find much value in one month unemployment reports especially when there are so many changing variables that make one month comparison to another difficult. What I see are climbing energy prices and state government budget crisis which all spell future job losses.
A large part of our GDP is based upon debt. In other words, we have a debt based economy to a large degree. The debt is strangling us as a nation and threatens to collapse our currency. That debt cannot be brought under control without raising taxes and or reducing spending, both of which will result of 100’s of thousands of jobs lost.
In light of that we can hang ourselves with more debt or starve ourselves from with budget cuts that will create much more unemployment......there is no recovery. There is only delaying a further fall.
LOL....it is simply astounding how people are willing to take the adjusted figures seriously...
