Nominally, yes. In reality and based on the actions of its citizens? Hell no.

What's insulting, is when politicians claim that their faith is the official faith of the nation.

When asked if America is a Christian nation, Palin responded, "It's mind -boggling to suggest otherwise."
Is there something that DOESN'T boggle Palin's tiny mind?

She just has the bumper sticker answer....if you asked her why?, she couldn't explain it.

No, we are not a Christian nation. We're a nation in which the largest religion happens to be Christianity. I like to think that those who call us a "Christian nation" mean so in that sense; it's flat-out wrong to say we live in a Christian Theocracy.

No.

If by "Christian nation", you mean a nation where a majority (albeit a steadily shrinking majority) of the population professes Christianity, then yes. 99.999% of the time when folks ask this question, they do not mean this.

If you mean that we are a nation whose political, legal, economic, and social tenets are derived directly from the Christian Bible, then absolutely not - and that is the way I interpret this question.

I answered yes because we were founded on Judeo/Christian principals and 85% of Americans consider themselves to be Christian. However, I truly believe what makes us a great nation is our belief in freedom of religious expression for all !!

Who the hell cares. I'd be more worried about the real issues than what church your neighbor goes to.
