A wounded Iraq war veteran found that out recently as he stood up – something he had to learn to do again after his wounds – and gave what the NY Post describes as an “impassioned challenge to fellow students on their perceptions of the military.” It occurred during the second of three meetings Columbia University has scheduled to talk about ROTC and the possibility of bringing it back on campus.

Some are also of the opinion that government shouldn’t be involved in subsidizing private colleges. So perhaps the a remedy can be found that is equitable for all. No ROTC on Columbia? Then what about no federal money for Columbia?

Discuss that.

Columbia, the bastion of liberalism, has a long history of shutting down free speech if the ideology is anything other than far left liberalism.

Liberals truly are scum of the Earth. I like to talk about deer hunting, and about how Nelson Mandela is a genocidal pervert. Gets 'em in a fluster everytime.

I thought that the Vietnam War was over and we outgrew hating the soldier instead of the war?

You can hate war all you want, but that's no reason to treat a kid with more guts than they'll ever dream of having in such a disparaging manner.

Although I disagree with the protesters, would not silencing them also be shutting down free speech?

Exactly! If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.

You flatter yourself, as a liberal, I really don't give a rat's ass what someone of your limited vision thinks of me.

I guess your support of free speech ends when someone says something you don't want to hear, eh?

in the end it's the soldiers that do the killing. If they just refused to do it, there'd be no war. to hell with them, we don't need war
