Did you know that a member of the Gay Army gets a toaster and a $20.00 Visa Gift Card for every elementary kid they recruit?

True Story, I heard it from a guy who grooms the dog of a cousin of a friend of a guy who overheard it at the Wesdtboro Baptist Church we hate gays rally in front af a cemetary.

Really? In what way are Gays a threat to children in schools? Will they be forced to do ballet or do homework and made to recite songs from "GLEE"?

No, show tunes and interior decorating.

If ignorance is bliss, there are a lot of really happy people posting on C-D.

Did my sarcasm escape you?

This thread is just another gay-bashing, they're coming for our children crap that rises to the surface every now and then. Usually complete with "proof" in the form of you tube junk videos and declarations from far right blogs and rags.

You're either born gay or not, it's not a choice. Gay people are not a threat to our kids, nor are they a threat to marriage, or society as a whole. What IS a threat to society is ignorance.

I think there's one thing we can all agree on; I'm the guy who's always right. Now, having got that out of the way, I will continue with... what is right.

I support gay stuff as much as anyone. I point out that there are casual gay slurs all over society that when exchanged for racial or ethnic slurs are only then deemed offensive. I have stating that gay marriage should, and will arrive, and we will all be better off for it. My point is, I'm a gay rights proponent.

I think it is appropriate to discuss gay stuff in shcools just like it is appropriate to discuss any kind of sex education. The kid has to be the right age, however. When I was in the 2nd grade I thought the male tool was never used for anything other than wizzing. At that age I would have been shocked to hear about any kind of sex, let alone gay sex. 7th grade may have been a different story. But somewhere along the line a kid should learn about all forms of common, legal sexual activity. If a school is going to teach a 7th grade kid why he shouldn't litter or steal chewing gum from the grocery store, he might as well learn why gay folks deserve the same respect as straight folks. It's all about learning about society.

On the other hand, I've never really quite understood the rationale behind a gay parade, or a gay festival. The logic behind celebrating one's sexual preference kind of escapes me. Campaigning for gay rights... okay. Celebrating any kind of sexual orientation... go ahead, but I won't be there.

Come on Conservatives, are you telling me that you want even more government legislation to CONTROL a PRIVATE school's agenda?

Also, if public schools cannot teach gay tolerance, then they should also not allow any prayers (nor the Pledge of Allegiance because it makes reference to God).

Let's not be hypocrites here.
