I think it depends a lot on the economy. More specifically, the economy of Main Street, to borrow the expression.....

If unemployment comes back down and people feel like times are getting better, then yes, I do think he'll serve a second term.

Alternatively, if the economy worsens, I also think he will serve a second term as a lot of people might find themselves in need of some type of financial assistance. People in this unfortunate position will be loathe to elect a Republican who they fear will cut these types of programs.

If the economy stays the same as it is now, then no, I don't think he will serve a second term.

I don't blame the President for the mess we're in economically, I do think he inherited most of it. On the other hand, I don't think his methods to pull us out of it have accomplished much either.

Ironically, I think the strongest thing in favor of Obama serving a second term is the lack of a viable, electable Republican alternative.

Seriously, McCain/Palin was the best they could come up with in 2008. For all of our sakes, I hope they can do better in 2012......

If the election was this November, I'd reckon he would win with ease.

That's not true. Trump is sticking in his head as a possible. He is certainly a moderate.

Well of course Obama would probably win if it was this year because he is already in office and no one has campaigned as of yet.

The election isn't this year. If it were then the campaigns would be in full force. So for someone to state that Obama would win easily if it was this year is silly.

The "smart Republicans" just love The Obama!

You're almost as funny as that guy in Denmark.

God, I sure hope so.

I voted yes, although there is a chance he'll survive.

I was saying based on current 'potential' candidates. Since no one has campaigned, its a fair fight (except for the sitting president thing).

Just thinking of campaign season is making me sick...

Same here. There is always a chance the incumbent will survive but hopefully his lack of momentum and strength combined with the poor economy will help boot him out the door.
