Granite State lawmakers consider a bill requiring candidates to prove they're eligible.

New Hampshire to candidates: Prove where you were born - Juana Summers - POLITICO.com

In NH ? Interesting.

It's satisfying in a way, however wrong it may be, to see bureaucracy thrown back squarely in the face of the same politicians who make the average citizen jump through countless procedural hoops like a trained seal to do myriad things (e.g. something as generic as get a drivers license, which is getting progressively tougher and tougher by the decade such that it thwarts bona fide citizens by asking for progressively burdensome and unrealistic documentation. Even children nowadays are legally harassed for running a lemonade stand).

Reminds me of the Lost Liberty Hotel initiative (for those who need a refresher):

Lost Liberty Hotel - Wikipedia

"... The Lost Liberty Hotel or Lost Liberty Inn was a proposed hotel to be built on the site of United States Supreme Court Associate Justice David Souter's properties in Weare, New Hampshire. The proposal was a reaction to the Supreme Court's Kelo v. New London (2005) decision in which Souter joined the majority ruling that the U.S. Constitution allows the use of eminent domain to condemn privately owned real property for use in private economic development projects..... [snip] Clements's press release said that the Lost Liberty Hotel would replace the farmhouse where Souter spent most of his youth. Souter moved there when he was 11 years old along with his family after his grandparents had died."

The project proponents would have used the eminent domain criteria established under Kelo to take Justice Souters properties, giving the Justice a nice taste of his own sour medicine he supports inflicting upon others. In some peoples eyes, giving him exactly what he deserved by using the very laws and principles Souter supports against him. You can bet your ass that Souter would have fought that taking all the way through the courts, because like many pernicious liberty abusing public servants, they rarely think that the laws, policies and rulings they support inflicting upon the public will ever be aimed squarely back at them.

Every state should require fool-proof documentation of citizenship for anyone to run for president. Anyone!

Just wonderful to behold.

I guess many have realized they may have been duped in the past.

The COLB that Obama released in July of 2008 would meet that requirement.

What is wonderful to behold is the continued stupidity of conservatives...

I think Obama is US-born, but I think it's a good idea too, because it's law.
