Sucks to be them.

well i have to say, if a person or entity (union pension funds included) has a lot of mutual funds, then boycotting in 99.9% of cases does nothing. in fact it likely hurts you without you knowing. that's the nature of mutual funds - the 'frozen dinners' of wall street. the companies practically have incest with each other so you could be unwittingly boycotting yourself. marshall & ilsley? omg. come on unions. marshall & ilsley is likely gettin' your money regardless if you boycott them or not. what a waste of time.

Then you must also be against corporations supporting politicians. Thus, the point of boycotting this practice, correct?

Not true. The letter was talking about a peaceful boycott. Nothing "thugish" about it. You guys need to learn a little bit about how to peacefully resist. There is nothing at all "mafia-sounding" (or to use your word "mob") about people organizing to boycott a business. Nothing at all. Now, rioting and destroying the property of businesses is a totally different story, and it seems like you guys are trying so hard to make this proposed boycott sound violent and illegal! Sorry, it's not working.

The day PS unions are completely disbanded can't come soon enough.

I just have to ask, once this gets out, do the unions and their supporters think the public will flock to their selfish cause?

i strongly support wisconsin unions. they must continue to send their jobs down here to the south.

There's nothing wrong with opposing via boycott something with which you disagree. What other methods would you suggest for voicing opposition? Do you think that EVERYONE should just roll over when they see a perceived injustice? That's what this is all about. A very large number of citizens of this country perceive that what was done in WI was wrong. There are legal and peaceful ways of expressing that point of view and these methods have been used throughout our history. Boycotting businesses is one of them. Businesses have political power, and even more so since Citizens United.

So much for tolerance for dissenting views.
