How is it that if I work directly for government it is some kind of socialist reality but if I start a business and profit as a middleman from the hiring of the same necessary employees it is something else?
One takes directly and cost the taxpayer money. The other does the same and adds an extra dose of profit for themselves as middleman, usually at the expense of both taxpayer and employee.
You've shown courage and backbone in the face of Republican hatred, stupidity, entitlement mentality, and nearsightedness.
Please continue by:
Never spending more than 8 hours on the job...ever again, forget those unpaid extra hours you gave out of dedication to the children....when your 8 hours are up, walk out.
No more weekend projects with the kiddies....
No more volunteering to coach sports teams....no more volunteering for ANY school related events...ALL the Republican parents can take care of that.
Never ever spend one more penny of YOUR money on any school supplies, if the state or parents don't take responsibility to see that classrooms have adequate supplies, why should you ?
No more extra hours getting a higher degree to improve teaching skills...why? You aren't going to get paid for it.
In other words , give the ignorant Republicans what they asked for.
This is called "working the contract" and every teacher in America should do exactly what you suggest.

If you can't figure it out on your own, I'm not sure what to tell you.
The contract # of days worked varies from district to district. Teachers are usually paid by the # of days they work. The RW think tank's assumptions are wrong.

Page 40 confirms I am correct.
They are paid a base salary for contract YEAR, of $33,853. If they work over the number of days contracted FOR THE YEAR, then they receive what amounts to overtime..
If they dont work the contracted number of days PER YEAR.. then they are docked, that doesnt mean they are paid a daily wage.. They can have off all summer and get a check if they have their checks spread out, this cant happen with hourly employees.
The original reason myself and others mentioned having their pay spread throughout the year is because another poster claimed that the teachers are essentially left out to dry during the summer, which is obviously false.
I said that because I was pointing out the fact that people are jealous and will start to target that area next.
I can just hear it all now, "These teachers make so much money they can stay home all summer!!!"
They probably have to stay home all summer to recover from spending all winter teaching children that are all messed up because of the parents that are complaining.

Oh, cut the cute stuff! Directly from the contract:
The salary provided in the index appropriate for education and experience shall be for the 186 day contract. Each day of work in excess of 186 days shall be compensated at a 1/186 of the annual salary (provided for the 186 days) per day. Hourly rate shall be compensated at the daily rate divided by 7. . .
They are paid for 186 days of working. If they work more, they get more. The hourly rate is determined by the daily rate (1/186 of annual salary) divided by 7.
Did you also stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night?
Stop acting like every corporation/business is some unethical monster out to screw everyone.
Acting? You funny, given that I never suggested that all businesses are corrupted.
I am stating that the modern Republican party is a terrorist fascist organization that is bent on corrupting our political system to imperil our democratic institutions and freedoms.

You realize that in a lot of places union contracts will prevent the employee from doing anything beyond what they are contracted to do AND would prevent anyone not in the union from doing that job?
