Your erstwhile tax dollars cease to be yours the moment you send a check to Uncle Sam. Your former dollars are no more than the money that you pay to a a condominium association, homeowner's association or dues to a club or organization. And while you will have some degree in how the groups money is spent, it ain't yours no more.

Taxes are like dues, paying them is the price of membership and for the goods and services they provide. If you don't what the club, condo, homeowners association spends money on, then vote for new directors, if that doesn't work and you don't like the decisions of the club, quit. If you don't like the condo association, move. But forget about the idea that money paid in is your money. It ain't.

This rant paid for with my money.

Your rant is worth what you paid for it.

All funds paid to the government for taxes are the People's money.
The complaint is in the irresponsible way it is spent and the amount taken and the inequitable way in which it is collected.

When people refer to "my" or "our" money it is in a collective sense.
When you present the premise of it being "Government's money" you separate the government from the people which is a dangerous proposition.

We (The People) work for it, supply it and government is to be the Steward of it and the Servant of the People.

A Responsibility, yes.....dues not in the sense you've presented.

In the Government's hand it is still the People's money.

Unfortunately, there is no option to "quit" - you go to jail. I wish I could quit on death and taxes .....

The problem is that 49% pay no dues and 69% don't pay what they owe. Does that eman we can kick them out of the voters club?
