Most on that list are not in the entertainment business, but I'm not sure that is relevant.

They are available to anyone.

But we do support education. The government takes hundreds of billions of dollars from millions of hard working tax payers every year to pay for education.

Many of us think that education is extremely important. In fact, it's so important that the government should get out of the way.

Another couple of athletes.

Do you really want to encourage kids to think they have a future as a sports star? Many are called, but few are chosen.

Trillion dollars + over the past few years to fight in and build the infrastructure in foreign lands, while our own crumbles. Investment building schools in Afghanistan, while schools across America are in danger of closing. Nobody blinks an eye at giving corporations so many tax breaks and incentives that some companies pay less than their workers, many of whom are strapped with student loans. Few hundred billion for new planes while we whine about money meant to keep people from falling to poverty and crime.

Yes. Because history is replete with examples of nations that have successful, thriving and innovative economies without universal education.

These are simply examples of people who most would recognize.

Millions of people achieve financial success without a college degree. And that is not to diminish the need for education.

But a college degree is certainly not necessary.

Statistically, a college degree will earn you more money. Now I realize that statistics don't work for individuals. Giving examples of people who made it big w/o a degree such as old dead white men, athletes, entertainers, and Bill Gates and Steve Jobs is not realistic.

Now that we are in a globalized world, which requires educated and skilled people to fuel economic growth in this country, we should allow anyone in the US to attend college free of charge. It makes sense in this global economy.

It's time to reset the way we do things, People.
I agree and we can pay for this largesse by confiscating the rich endowments of the private colleges and universites. You want to hear liberals scream?

You mean like the stimulus package that managed to spend a trillion dollars and gave us things like turtle overpasses, socially conscious puttet shows, replica railroad tourist attractions, and floating museums? Just what do we reap when we sow crap like this?
