Because until an individual has actually experienced the event he is a rookie. The series and magnitude of events over the last few days is unprecendented.

[how many people can say they have earthquake AND tsunami AND nuclear accident experience?]

No I do not believe they sell radiation meters. From what I remember they inform you that you could go buy a meter if you wanted to place a monitor in your location and up load the info to their website.

I think I will trust my source more than you. At this point I have no idea why it is down.

I guess the Radiation Network changed their link. When it comes to disasters like this, governments are not always forthright.

Ummm, I would say not one person on this planet can claim that title...

But the Japanese HAVE people who have dealt with earthquakes and tsunami's. AND they have people who have dealt with nuclear accidents..

So what's your point, they need people who have all three fields of experience individually?

Makes no sense whatsoever.......

I suggest you do some research on the web... they do...... -or- they did.....

Is that your's? Because it is not possible. Even collectively with their combined abilities, knowledge, and technical expertise they will be challenged. You are the one calling them rookies and 4th graders. I think that is unwarranted.

i think all hell is going to break lose at the Fukushima nuclear plant, they are grasping for straws.!!! 6 reactors at one power plant with a skeleton work force of 50 workers, plus all the spent fuel rods being stored in the same buildings as the reactors with no containment casing protecting them.. it's just a catasrophe in the making

In the late 1800's Japan suffered earthquake, typhoon, and tidal wave in a very short period, similar to what they are undergoing now. At least back then humans had not yet become dependant upon electricity.

Historic Earthquakes

Japan has been through worse. They will survive and they will thrive again.

That was a reply to Post #14, and that's what I was trying to say, there are no people like that that individually are professionals in all three fields.

Sorry if my sarcasm went over like a lead ballon, read #14 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I personally think the Japanese have their best (and bravest) people working on their nuclear reactors.

Again, I apologize for my lousy wording.......
