No.

I believe all forms of government aid should be removed from corporate welfare.

The irony here is that more people were able to enter the middle class with programs like the G.I Bill and other federal funded program than any other way.

Prior to that time a college education was a predominately the bastion of the upper middle class and the rich.

It's become obvious that the primary goal of the Republican Party and the American Conservative Movement to take this country back to the "Robber Baron" era in terms of economic opportunities for middle and working class Americans.

I don't know why they just don't come out and tell people:

"If your not rich f****cK you!

Why should I pay for your child's college education?
Would you rather pay for:

That person's unemployment benefits
Food Stamps
Welfare Check
Section 8 Stipend?
OR
America is the only country on the planet where a significant number of people are perfectly willing to pay anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000 to keep somebody in prision. But many of the same people will get totally indignant at the thought of the government spending $10,000 to $20,000 to put somebody throught college.

It's been proven that a highly educated society benefits EVERYBODY.

Kinda short sighted, dontcha think? I don't mind INVESTING in other people's kids...especially when mine aren't doctors or engineers. We need to encourage education for the good of society.

I say make college tuition/costs fully subsidized as long as a student maintains a certain GPA. That way, we can ensure that only the people willing to study hard and get the work done get the assistance. It'll help poor but intelligent people, like yours truly, go to college without facing crushing debt... allowing better social mobility for said people and keeping this nation educated in general.

Just like healthcare costs... get the government involved, and costs skyrocket.
