Why she donated $1,000,000 does not matter, the only thing that really matters is that money can help people who are going through hell after this catastrophe.

Sandra Bullock is such a class act!

I am sure that there are many others of substantial means who have (or will) donate large sums in the effort to support Japan whether their donations make the news or not. And Oprah is one of the most philanthropic billionaires in America.

Sandra Bullock, one of the few classy Hollywood celebs who understands that charity begins at home. She adopts children from within the US, and doesn't beg struggling Americans to donate to foreign disasters without doing the same herself.

It's not cheap to have to keep putting yourself together. She does have an image to keep

There are a lot of people doing less and also a lot doing nothing. Why can't you just except the fact it was a nice act on her part?

You wonder how much Oprah sent?? WTHeck is that supposed to mean?? So now, every time there's a need, every philanthropic celebrity is required to donate money? And they're required to donate a certain amount, and there must be a press release so everyone will know how much was donated?? Really?? Wow.

If Oprah, Sandra or ____________ (insert name of any random celebrity) does or doesn't want to donate money, that's their choice and their business.... since it's.... THEIR MONEY!!!

Someone mentioned earlier that Sandra earned $52 million last year. If she gave $1 mil, that's about the equivalent of any of us giving a week's salary. How many of you naysayers have done that? It's a tax write-off for you, too, y'know. Try it.
