Movies do seem to predict what the future may bring. For instance, in the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy sings "Over the Rainbow" about good times to come in the future. The movie came out in the 1930s right when the United States was recovering from the Great Depression. Americans were looking to the future and becoming increasingly hopeful about economic recovery and better standards of living. Then 10-15 years later, the economy suddenly boomed.
