"Hawaii's Republican Gov. Linda Lingle signed the legislation into law.
Around that time, Lingle - who campaigned for Sen. John McCain and Sarah Palin in 2008 - criticized questions about the president's birth.
In a WABC interview before signing the legislation, Lingle said, "...I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health." Lingle added, " … The president was in fact born at Kapi'olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that's just a fact."
"It's been established he was born here," the governor continued. "I can understand why people want to make certain that the constitutional requirement of being a, you know, natural born American citizen … but the question has been asked and answered. And I think just we should all move on now."
Seen the latest polls on the issue? They are getting progressively worse for obama, meaning as the issue continues to be in the forefront, more and more people have doubts.
Yeah, it pretty much is. This is where Birthers depart from reality.
Certificate: an official document attesting the truth of the facts stated, as of birth, marital status, death, health, completion of an academic course, ability to practise a profession, etc (That's from Collins, not that it matters overly much.)
There is no One True Birth Certificate. Certificates are issued based on records - in the case of a birth certificate, records kept in the office of vital statistics. The records existing is the only pertinent data point. If Hawaii has joined the 21st century in generating computer printouts as their certificates, well, good on them. Those computer printouts carry the exact same legal weight as the very first BC ever issued from the state. Barack Obama could ask for 200 of them to be printed and embossed with the state seal, and every single one of them would be prima facie evidence of Barack Obama being born in Hawaii.
The insistence on a "long form", a "vault copy" or the half-dozen other terms that have been invented to somehow imply that Hawaii can't be trusted to keep vital records - it is, to be blunt, not rational.

Contemporaneous documentation/certification versus political certification.
That's not REALLY his BC. It's just a computer generated document that contains SOME information (supposedly) from the LF BC on file (supposedly).
I like that Trump said this. More and more people will ask, will wonder, what is he hiding.
Wrong, it really is his birth certificate. You are right that its computer generated, and well that is how Hawaii stores the birth certificate records. Its all digital, its all on computer.

There is also an original long form, from which SOME of the particulars on the CG copy come from.
I LOVE this! I pray he runs, I pray he brings it up at every debate, every chance he gets.
As time wears on, as the issue sticks around, more and more people are not at all sure if he was born here.
Donald makes an excellent point - obama has spent MILLIONS keeping the true original BC away from the public - Why?
