This is because there are more Blacks in southern states due to slavery. Whites who can afford to self segregate in the south tend to do so.

Btw I am a Hispanic and never have I once experienced racism in this wonderful city, where I live (which is conservative) there are Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, even Asians...

It really doesn't surprise me that you are being biased... When you start to generalize it is extremely obvious that you support a political side, which I am not going to state because you and I know what side that is...
I'm Black and my family did live in Fort Worth for a time. My mother said that when we were living there, we did run into some racism out there. We've experienced it in Georgia too.

Depends on how you see it. I lived (most of my life) in a very liberal state in a very liberal county outside DC where it is diverse, but also somewhat segregated. Recent test scores from the county reflect that.

Given the right social situation or circumstance, there is the potential for racist anywhere in the US and the world. Here are basically the four times I've experienced racism in the US:

1. The Pilot gas station in Portal, NJ at 1am. Self served gas is not allowed in NJ, so I am forced to watch an attendant fill my car up with gas. I tell him ahead of time that I will be paying with plastic, so no need to overfill in order to make my total some even dollar amount. Despite this request (asked nicely), he proceeds to spill gas on the side of my car. And there is the wasted of paying extra for what I can't use. So I march into the station and demand to speak to a manager. His solution was to offer me some paper towels. As I huff back to my car to clean her up, an older white man in overalls follows me out. He tells me that he is a retired trucker and owns stock in Pilot. He also tells me that the gas on my car is good for the paint. I disagree with him and ask him if he'd like a gasoline bath for his truck. Then he asks me where I am from. Now I speak perfect unaccented English. And I've been asked this question countless times in my lifetime. So my eyes narrow slightly and I say that "I was born in Manhattan". Then he asks where my parents are from. I tell him. Finally, he tells me that I will never be as American as he is. That shocked me, I tell him I disagree and drive off. I wasn't mad at him, just shocked and annoyed. The agitation I felt kept me awake the final 300 miles home that early morning. I didn't let it get to me, and I am glad not to be an old white guy in overalls.

2. I'm not sure why, but one night getting gas at the Sunoco on Rt.9 in Newton, was chaos. They always had the best prices in the area. Anyway, the two lines forming to get gas was messy. As I got closer to the pumps, somehow a car full of black girls felt that I cut them off. I didn't think so. Anyway, they got out of their car at one point and threatened to "beat my **** ass" over the situation. They also did some sort of chicken neck thing and pointed in my face, which imo is something that ghetto black women do when they get mad. Anyway, it was time for them to move their car up again, so the situation sort of evaporated. I don't know where the gas station attendants were at this time, probably watching from a distance and hoping for a catfight.

3. A white SUV driver driving very poorly in a two lane twisty section of road. He was in the middle of two lanes for a while. As soon as he picked one lane, I honked and zipped by him in my little Civic. I love driving this short section of serpentine road in Cambridge. I hate when the driving experience is ruined for me by other drivers. I now only drive it late at night. Anyway, so then there's a red light ahead so it's the SUV and me stopped abreast. He looks over at me and yells something about me being a j*p. Whatever, I'm Chinese and a much better driver than him. I felt sorry for his girlfriend sitting next to him. Had I had a chance, I would have explained that he needs to stay in his lane and stop being a sloppy SUV driver.

4. At a red light in Watertown Square. This section is confusing and four lanes across. Two turning lanes, two straight lanes into a fork. While at the light, and it's a long one, my boyfriend (driving) and I watch a passenger tossing their cigarette butt out their window. This annoys us and I fantasize jumping out of our car, picking up the butt and tossing it back into their vehicle. Of course, I don't do this but now we hate this car up ahead. The light changes and the car up ahead goes to a right lane, then changes back left. This causes some awkwardness in the traffic flow. And at the next set of lights, it's the annoying (white) trash car to our right. The driver is mouthing something at us, we are amused and my boyfriend rolls down the (power) window on my side just in time to hear "and your g**k girlfriend". In this situation, my boyfriend is incensed, but I am amused since I am not one, and it's such an outdated term. I think that Doonesbury cartoons used that term and I associate it with Vietnamese people.

And in all of these situations, I considered them a rare occurrence, but a natural one. All were brought out by stress and anger. These strangers, not knowing my name, addressed their heated message to me with a description of my exterior. I suppose they could have just said "hey Chinese lady" but they were mad and went to use words that were more insulting. And why not use a one monosyllabic word slang for me instead of using more syllables?

Lastly, while we were growing up in very white (but accepting) Concord, MA, my little sister was bullied in her 2nd grade class by a black boy whose family was imported into the area by a charity group. He didn't pick on anyone else. The charity had raised funds for a down payment on a house and the black family was to make the mortgage payments. The older son was close to my age and very nice and quiet, but the youngest was very mean to my sister. I think that he thought that she was lower than him in the pecking order of minorities. After a few years, the black family defaulted on the mortgage and they moved away.

I think that it's important to not label all interracial conflicts as race based, after all there are plenty of conflicts between those of the same race and culture. Sometimes people don't get along for other reasons. And just because they happen to use a racial slur in anger, doesn't mean that they feel that way all of the time. Those racial slurs are out there in our collective society. While they can't be erased, we can stop giving those words such power and overreacting when we think them misused.

I am still waiting for the black community to stop using the N word themselves, instead of playing this game of only blacks can use it. At my job, the blacks use the term "negritto" instead. Talking about the managers "coming down on the negritto", or "what's a poor negritto" to do. They think themselves cool, I think that doing that is very self-segregating.

It's just human nature to want things to stay relatively stabile I actually believe there is strength in diversity, but not state sanctioned multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism is going to happen like it or not where you have a significant immigrant population but they SHOULD eventually shed most of their old ways and become Americans and adopt our culture. That is what always made America great.

But these days people are being held back by liberal idiocy convincing them that the culture of whatever 3rd world rathole they emigrated from is somehow worth keeping alive. That makes no sense, their culture is probably the reason their country is 3rd world and they rode a boat or a ratty old truck to get HERE.

They should be happy to be here, and encouraged to leave their culture behind them and adopt our culture ASAP. That is how you succeed in America.

One point I have to give to white racists is they are right when they point out that "diversity" & "multiculturalism" is only promoted in historically white countries. It's true and quite telling. It's always left wing douchebags pushing it. And have you ever wondered why it's always got to be immigrants from 3rd world countries lately. Wonder why that is?

Because leftists hate individuality & true diversity, they want mindless voters that'll give up freedoms for goodies & safety...look at Central & South America, they are socialist he'll hole countries, poor kids from those areas are willing to trek all the way across Mexico to get to the US...and all they're going to do if given citizenship is grow up to vote our country into the ground with socialist garbage.

I don't mind having people of different races & cultures here, the problem is we have went from the "melting pot" to this "multiculturalism" approach where we are not to expect immigrants to assimilate. We all have experienced difficulties dealing with immigrants that won't assimilate to our language & at the very least embrace our culture. Some of us will admit our frustration..while most are PC cowards, too afraid to speak the truth.

"Multiculturalism" is BS, period.

From my observations of the results of multiculturalism and diversity (at least in the ways it is today), all it has done is give fuel to your argument of how "certain events of the 60s" ruined everything. Between the rise of the ghetto, cholo, and other negative subcultures that have risen in recent decades, wouldn't all of these things prove your point.

The reason why I speak in third person perspective is because I neither can't stand diversity and multiculturalism, and when a young black male says "he hates diversity and multiculturalism," you know it's serious business. But it's not for the same reasons. What I ultimately want is to live in a country where the culture is stable and monogamous, however, I want that culture to supersede race, religion, and sexual orientation. In other words, a multiracial, multireligious, integrated, monocultural society where everyone shares the same language, ideals, and aspirations regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. And diversity, IMO has done the most damage to that integrated society I long for and has limited where I can reside within this country and go with the peace of racial indifference among the masses, social stability without any structural barriers, and just being one of a million instead of "different."

I live in a neighborhood that is "multicultural" and "diverse," but there is one thing that you will NOT find among the masses: integration among the groups. For the metropolitan area I live in, the more diverse a place is, the more segregated it is. The more multicultural it is, the more likely you'll see minorities who reflect the negative stereotypes. And as a result, the more diverse/multicultural a place is, the more likely the whites will feel a sense of racial superiority (despite putting on the "liberal facade"). The ironic thing is when you arrive in the "red state" portion of the metropolitan area that isn't as diverse and multicultural, you start seeing racial integration and united stable communities where the predominant culture overrules all other social barriers of race, national origin, and religion.

However, back to the point of many people who argue against multiculturalism and diversity. Essentially, the thing all of you argue against is the exact thing that's giving your "reasons" fuel. Scary, violent, poor minorities are partially a product of the multicultural divide, emphasizing unscientific ethnic differences instead of going the Civic Nationalism route like *cough* Canada *cough.* Minorities who are educated, successful, and content are the result of minimal social/Government barriers for their to integrate and assimilate. Don't believe me, just do a cross analysis between Asians Americans vs Asians Australians, and Blacks Brits vs Black Americans.

My theory against multiculturalism and diversity is that an integrated and assimilated society would create more law-abiding, industrious, and non-threatening blacks and Latinos, making void your arguments. I get the assimilation part, and wholeheartedly agree that those who permanently immigrate to a new country should make it their mission to assimilate. If their "Old Country" was so great, why leave it for good? But if there were minorities who were willing to assimilate (blacks) but were blocked from every opportunity for them to do so, who go through all that trouble just to later on complain about other minorities (Latinos) refusing to assimilate; so don't use that excuse.

But why against something that is helping your "cause" in the first place?
I'm a very practical person, my issue with diversity is how strenuously it's pushed as an unalloyed good, when there is simply little empirical evidence to support that. It's as if we are basing the future of the country on a wing & a prayer.

Kind of like how we are doing with this rush to normalize homosexuality & thrust kids into the arms of potential NAMBLA members because if you disagree with the idea of homosexual marriage & adoption, you must just be a meanie?

Our society is sick.

Its because they cant win any elections if people are all wealth, free, and independent, importing a voter block that is dependent, and has a tribalism mentality helps create class an race warfare that helps these scum bags get elected and exacerbate things to ruin this nation.

You have seen the truth...Never be afraid to speak it.
