Sarcasm seems to be included in all your posts...Why?

Canadian inventors have patented more than one million inventions, yet few people can name more than one or two Canadian inventors or any Canadian accomplishments. Below are a few of the more important ones.

Anti-Gravity Suit Invented by Wilbur Rounding Franks in 1941, a suit for high altitude jet pilots

Basketball Invented by James Naismith in 1891

Compound Steam Engine Invented by Benjamin Franklin Tibbetts in 1842

Electric Light Bulb Henry Woodward invented an electric light bulb in 1874 and sold the patent to Thomas Edison. (I'll bet you thought Edison invented it, didn't you)

Heart Pacemaker Invented by Dr. John A. Hopps in 1950

Insulin Process Fredrick Banting, J. J. Macleod, Charles Best and Collip invented the process for insulin in 1922

Jetliner The first commercial jetliner to fly in North America was designed by James Floyd in 1949. The first test flight of the Avro Jetliner was on August 10 1949.

Newsprint Invented by Charles Fenerty in 1838

Radio-Transmitted Voice Invented by Reginald A. Fessenden in 1904

Screw Propeller Ship's propeller invented by John Patch in 1833

Television System Reginald A. Fessenden patented a television system in 1927
Television Camera Invented by F. C. P. Henroteau in 1934

Telephone Invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876

Wireless Radio Invented by Reginald A. Fessenden in 1900

Zipper Invented by Gideon Sundback in 1913

Many more here.. Canadian Inventors and Inventions

Waffles indeed.

Yet, they still manage to provide universal healthcare and unlimited unemployment to their citizens, and have a balanced national budget. Why is that? Why do you think that is?

My opinion is that it's all based on one thing: Canada has strict limits on campaign contributions. Lobbying is almost nonexistent. Their politicians are not bought and paid for like ours here in the States.
I would imagine frivolous lawsuits/outrageous jury awards have a part to play in this equation also.

yeah alot of stuff that makes to court in the US get thrown out and their is a limit to the amount of damages paid out it only pays out the amount you can prove you lost not mant pain and suffering awards like the onewhere mcdonalds makes and serves hot coffee and try to drink before it cools down in your car and spill it on your lap so you sue for millions and win would not of happend here.

it would of been very low amount of punitive damage paid out since hot coffee is well HOT and it says right on the cup. caution! this beverage is served hot.

True, but 40 billion dollars is still a long way from a balanced budget.

By that standard, North Korea, which doesn't have universal health care, is "capitalist"

true we are updating our military with 65 F35's and building more arctic patrol vessels to assit the US navy and coast gaurd we could use a few older Los Angeles class 668I fast attack subs to help against the russian fleets under the artic Ice pack maybe make a joint US/Canadian force were navy personal from both countries serve aboard them doing that would show russia the north american artic is not up for grabs

I would venture to say that China and Vietnam are more capitalist than the US at this point.

Maybe you should write to your buddy Obama about his bail outs...

And his war spending.....

Maybe Canada can balance their budget because they have a freer market, or maybe because their demographics are totally different from ours.

It's a useless comparison since the variables cannot be controlled.

The highlighted part of your post is not true. They have had a French problem for decades or longer.

This is hilarious, coming from you! Didn't you just go on and on about how you want to move to Canada b/c you hate capitalism??

Yes, I'm sure he's changed his mind about moving to Canada now that he understands that they have some market freedom.
