Quite a few did, many didn't and supported his restraint. Bush I had something like a 90% approval rating during and shortly after the conflict.

It really does not matter if the U.N. sanctions it or not. All I've ever heard about Bush from the liberals was Bush didn't need to meddle in other nations affairs, no nation building, Saddam did nothing wrong, etc etc etc. Substitute Saddam for Quaddafi and Obama for Bush and isn't Obama doing the exact same thing.

I will repeat. Whether the U.N. sanctions this or not is a pure excuse and is totally irrelevant. What is the core principal here? Are we supposed to meddle in other nations affairs or not? Are we going in to "nation build" or not? Do we want war or peace? Just pick one side and stick to it.

Never said I knew the truth, but whatever a person's core principals are, they should stick to it.

Yeah, DURING the war, but years after a LOT didn't have the same opinion of the first Gulf war.

Whether the UN sanctions it and there is broad international support is kind of important, in fact it is very important, to tons of people. Again, why were many on the left more supportive of Afghanistan, the first gulf war, and Serbia then they were of the second gulf war? I am not saying I support this in Libya, or Afghanistan, I don't, but you seem to leave no room for ambiguity of opinion (especially among liberals) which necessarily explains why you are so confident in the correctness of your assertions and why you think others don't stick to their principles when in fact many do.

I love all the wingnuts telling us how we should feel, making up ridiculous comparisons, re-inventing history, and most of all, thinking they're somehow military experts now.
List of Truths Wingnuts Will Never Accept
  • Iraq II /= Libya in any way, shape or form.
  • Disapproving of military action in situation A /= always having to disapprove of all future military action.
  • Supporting our Allies when they ask is good foreign and diplomatic policy.
  • The world isn't Black & White.
  • 'Hypocrite' does not mean what they think it means.

Do some Googling. Here's just one example of the so-called liberal support for Afganistan.

You can type all day long about how libs. support Afganistan, GWI, etc. and I can dig up articles all day on how they don't.

Better yet, are the liberals now officially proclaiming "the Obama Doctrine" yet? Basically, the Obama Doctrine is "follow Hillary".
Exactly - Hillary is full of....."surprises".
