Karma's a ***** and we've built up a lot of it. Why the hell are we still in the middle east? Why can we never mind our own business?
Because Americans have come to expect the USA to be involved and 'do something' the idea of being concerned but not getting involved is foreign to them.
So you would not come to the aid of anyone who could not express their gratitude and respect toward you . . . That excludes small children, people with mental illness, people with certain physical disabilities, and probably many others.
We should act because it's the right thing to do and expect NOTHING in return.
This is true. If only that was the real reason for being over there. How come we didn't go into Rwanda when there was a mass genocide of 800,000 people? How come we don't help Mexico who is on our OWN CONTINENT? Hmm, perhaps maybe because those countries have nothing to offer in the way of resources.
