last one out please turn off the lights.

Unions ruined this city. Their demands to pay unskilled workers 30 an hour and provide all those benefits for free killed this city.

Not only did Clinton sign NAFTA, Obama is hell-bent on destroying the American trucking industry and getting rid of those jobs from the USA.

Which unskilled workers in Detroit made 30 bucks an hour on average? Even at peak, the average was never anymore than 28 per hour. Only skilled labour made more. And even if unskilled labor did make as much as you say (and they didn't), it aint like they stuck that money under mattresses. They SPENT that money and spent it fast. That money went right back into the local economy like clockwork.

Again with the right wing oversimplifying of problems. Turn off Rush for five minutes.

Who's the emotional one here? How about a valid response to the posts instead of whining?

The ones who are still there. Bobby, Sally and Danny. I never said there was a significant white population, where did you get this?

Funny how that seems to coincide with the fact that there were about 12 large auto plants in the city at one time, and now there are 3.
You're picking too much.

1) I never said that. Other posters did. I think it does play a role, however, it is not the only reason. I might add that poverty in those proportions can have a HUGE effect on the microeconomy of that area. It's "dumb" to think that it wouldn't.

2) The auto plants goes back to my statement of bending over to union thuggery.

Seriously, can you please stop getting so emotional about it and develop a mature argument against what is being said?
