Hamas stated Wednesday evening that it wants to “restore calm†and indicated it is backing off from escalation in attacks as Israel makes it clear it will not tolerate terror.
Gaza-based terrorists fired 15 mortar shells at western Negev farming areas during the day
Yes, it is a problem for those who are not Jewish but have called the land their home. At least the same kind of problems that prompted the pilgrims to get on-board the Mayflower. No? We're talking about a country that criminalizes free speech and is based on religiosity. What kind of problem would that bring about, right?
Israel has been made a bit too much of America's liability over the decades. As for oil, no other country in the world could hold a claim on America's strategic oil reserve but Israel.
Only it isn't their home, it's the Jews' home, plain and simple. Muslims stole land from the Jews and the Jews won it back in a war. Israel has every right to exist as a Jewish state. It's because of your ilk that we need a Jewish state to begin with. People like you would just as soon allow Jews to be carted off to gas chambers.
As the details emerge, it sounds less and less like Hamas is responsible for the rockets and the recent attack.
A similar but separate group, the Islamist Jihad, is responsible.
Many experts now believe that a fringe group somehow managed to get a small bomb into West Jerusalem due to lower security precautions (hey, there hasn't been a terrorist attack in Jerusalem in seven years!)
Here's an interesting article from Haaretz on the situation (yes, the one Likkudnik's love to hate).
Perhaps you can find an equally graphic depiction of things like the Shatila massacre? Almost 30 years ago but in a land where hatreds go back centuries just the blink of an eye and there's no lack of guilt on either side.
The Lebanese and "Palestinian" Muslims had been terrorizing, raping and murdering the Lebanese Christians throughout the war. The Lebanese Christians got a chance at revenge and they took it. Somehow the Joooos are to blame.

The Lebanese civil war isn't that easy, everyone was fighting everyone and with the exception of the Israelis and Palestinians everyone was allied with everyone else against someone else at one point or another. Syria, and Israel were on the same side at one point fighting the Christian Lebanese allied with Iraq who were also fighting other Christian Lebanese. There were also times where Christians and Sunnis were fighting Druze, and where Israelis and Shiite Lebanese were allied and fighting Palestinians etc and so forth and a fair amount of the war was Christians killing other Christians such as in the Safra massacre. During this time everybody committed a lot of war crimes and there is plenty of blame to go around.
Sabra and Shatilla were particularly, notorious because of the large numbers of unarmed people, many of whom were children and elderly that were massacred by Christian militias who were allowed in, while resident were not allow out. It has been argued that the massacre was possibly encouraged by the IDF, who were surrounding the camp, following the assination of President Gemayel

Hamas reminds me of the bully kid in the Australian video. They just keep punching, kicking and tormenting the "big kid". The big kid takes it and takes it until he finally has had enough. Then when the punk gets body slammed they play the underdog card and all the weak minded come to their defense.
