I guess some people got bored on the anti-Mexican section of the P&OC section and decided to come post this toxic medicine over here.

You said that these legal people are illegally here.
Do I have this right?

Who does belong in the US, in your opinion?
You make no sense.

Most Hispanics entered the U.S illegally

We do have a common language. Nobody is pushing for a second one, let alone "one certain second" one.

Default America is a bilingual society now - English and Spanish

Kids should be learning AT LEAST 2 languages - English and Spanish. Hispanics are a central part of our culture. As a result, everyone should at least know these two languages.

I don't speak spanish and feel I'm behind. That's why I too intend to learn spanish. Took it in HS but that was a long time ago. Asian languages are also important.

The U.S.A. was the first independent country in the new world.

That is why this country is called America. It earned the right.

What specifically do you have against learning the language that is spoken in the U. S. by U.S. citizens whose ancestors that came here learned when their first language was not english (and not spanish)?
Then why did/do I have friends who are second generation US from European decent with parents who never spoke English?

It would be beneficial for those who claim that the US is an English-speaking country to learn proper English grammar, spelling and sentence structure before complaining about the language skills of others.

Also, please point out anywhere in the documents stated that English is the official language of our country.
I did not mean to imply that any of those documents stated that. I know they did not. I know that we have no 'official' language.

But when people say we are a bi-lingual country, they are wrong.
If that was the case, the English would have had to press 1 for English in order to comprehend our Declaration of Independence!

Actually... not so much.

Their children? Sure.

But the immigrant pattern has always been to first settle into ethnic neighborhoods where the mother tongue was still spoken. That's why we have Chinatowns, Greek Towns and Little Italy's in so many American cities.
