No, it is they that will adapt and change, not I. If they are in MY country not theirs they will speak MY language, not I theirs. They will adjust to MY culture, not I theirs. They will accept MY customs not I theirs. They will obey OUR laws, not ignore them as they now do. I totally reject multiculturealism.
It is exactly this attitude which will be your downfall. You are digging your heals in and ignoring the changes around you.
But you are correct that it will be in any immigrant's best interest to learn the host country's language and customs, otherwise they are limiting themselves tremendously. I know people who have been here for years, and have trouble carrying a conversation in English. It astonishes me and their lives suffer for it. But that is their choice.
