Smart people learned to quit doing that a long time ago. I've always known that Republicans aren't conservative. Don't know when the rest of the nation will get that news.

I never got how worker's rights could ever be considered "Big Government." Sure, maybe the unions can be excessively big and resort to less than ethical tactics, but they wouldn't even exist if the workers were satisfied.

Tea partiers were right about something, that fascism is firmly planting its root in America. The problem: they are on the wrong side of the issue.

Nita

In those days, it only took one person to support a family so it couldn't have been too bad.

"The demonizing of government at all levels that has become such a reflexive impulse for conservatives in the early 21st century would have mystified most elected officials in Wisconsin just a few decades ago.

When Gov. Gaylord A. Nelson, a Democrat, sought to extend collective bargaining rights to municipal workers in 1959, he did so in partnership with a Legislature in which one house was controlled by the Republicans."

And what is it when politicians fight hard for corporations that are huge contributors to campaigns? That is different how?

Oddly enough it's the same age as the anti-union crap, enough already

And for those diehards who insist it's unions that cause all the problems I'll challenge you once again.

Produce a copy of a union contract signed by only one party, until you do the " it's all the unions' fault " argument is just so much meaningless BS.

When unions have the power and desire to shut down a company that doesn't sign the contract it's not exactly a fair situation. When a union says "sign this contract or we will picket and call for a boycott of your company" do you think that's fair?

No, the real "leeches" are the owners of wealth who live off the labor of the vast majority of people.
