The adults are in charge, at least in the House, and we will live within our means.

Default News, Republicans out to trim welfare again

But they'll never trim corporate welfare.

The new GOP mantra: "Tax dollars belong in the pockets of the wealthy."

Well said!

The idle/non productive types have been living off the government for so long it has become a way of life for them. They learn the word 'entitlement' from an early age, I guess.

I was recently out of town and while getting off on the exit for my hotel, I saw several different people holding signs asking for money. I felt sorry for them and it really upset me. My husband did not feel any sympathy and said they could work if they wanted to, they were just too lazy and it is easier to just take a hand out. Well, just 2 seconds down the road was a store with "HELP WANTED" in bold letters in the window. Pathetic.

The pathology on the left is fascinating. There seems to be a belief that wealth belongs to the government and they pick winners and losers. The government can promote or impede job creation through taxation. The left believes that impeding job growth is good for the middle class. Such an interesting concept.

Actually, I think it's more along the line of "Dollars belong in the pockets of the people".

I know that as a democrat, you probably think all money belongs to the government, and they're just nice enough to let us have some of it to live on...but it's our money before we get taxed by them. We just want them to let us keep more of it.

Did you forget the very liberal Obama and Pelosi handed over trillions of tax dollars in the form of bailouts to the globalist corporations.

I would say Obama, Pelosi, Frank and the democrats think our tax dollars belong in the pockets of the very wealthy.

And generations of Americans will be forever paying off those bailouts.

Wasn't it Obama who compromised tax cuts for the
wealthy end of December? Didn't Obama support
bailouts of the banks? Could it be - Obama was behind
the sweet deal Insurance Corps and Big Pharm got out
of the Health Care Reform Bill

Wow, with a friend like that, who needs an enemy

Actually, I like the mantra "Tax dollars belong in the
pockets of the worker

"Very liberal?" Please. They're all corporatists who believe in recklessly enriching their corporate paymasters above all else. Liberals actually have convictions and beliefs, corporate hacks like Obama and Pelosi believe whatever they think will get them elected and get them bigger payments from Wall St.

The right belives taxpayers should support corporate interests. But they talk about "free markets." The right paints teachers, cops, and firefighters as fatcats living high on taxpayer dollars, while sending billions to billionaires. The right claims that individuals with 250K annual incomes are "not that well off" while claiming that retired teachers getting 35K are a big drain on the nation's resources.
