Wow first time my sarcastic comments spurred a thread to be created. Good discussion though even if my Lenny Bruce type comments are no longer on record. Race will continue to be a part of American Politics for a long long long long time.

Here is another example of how Cubans/Cuban Americans view themselves

Its very sad to say but most other Latino ethinc groups very much dislike Cubans....and Cubans dislike anyone who is not (White) Cuban or Spaniard.
What many people fail to realize is that there is racial discrimination in Hispanic countries. The upper class tends to be of European descent, the middle class tends to be people of mixed European and Indigenous ancestry, and the poor tend to be the indigenous/African descendants. People from countries with a high concentration of European descent (Argentina, Uruguay) tend to look down on nations with a high concentration of indigenous (Peru, Bolivia) Ironically, Argentina will probably have a higher concentration of European descent people in 30 years than the USA.

I've also come across many Cuban Americans that look down on people who still live in Cuba, regardless of their race.

Well America made a HUGE mistake electing Obama because he's (half) black, why wouldn't they again once again be fooled into electing someone based on their color.

I like Marco Rubio and would vote for him, but not because hes Latino, but because he shares the same CONSERVATIVE values that I hold......I think Rubio needs to do the opposite what Obama did before he runs for POTUS....he needs to get some experience. Something Obama DIDN'T do and America is paying a dear price for it now.

Funny this was never an issue until we got the first non-White American in the White House.

Some people are just so silly to think that the Tea Party foolishness...oops I mean outrage (which magically and spontaneously sprouted on Nov 5, 2008) is about race. Oh, and by the way, please ignore all of those little racist signs that were being carried because race has nothing to do with the "outrage".

If I didn't vote for Obama because of his race I hardly think I would vote for a Hispanic because of his race. The race doesn't enter in to what I would do, at all.

Why do some (I'd say a few) narrowminded people still classify spanish speaking americans as 1 single race? Thats quite ignorant.
La Raza does.
