Surprised by the number of Americans who don't care about American history.
Kinda tells you where we are going as a nation.
Well, people answered your post honestly and it somehow reflects on where we are going as a nation? How? What do you want--a national holiday for the day Reagan got shot?
To be honest, Reagan's attempted assassination doesn't have a huge bearing on our nation's history. It's a good piece of trivia, but really his policies should be more understood than the date of his assassination.
I know what happened...and also know that it has little if any importance in our national history. The old codger didn't die, nor was he even disabled as a result. Life goes on. He got to enjoy a long and happy life, unlike so many of the poor and disadvantaged that he spat upon at every opportunity.

Sorry. I thought the anniversary of the day the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WAS NEARLY MURDERED would garner a mention. I guess the day the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WAS NEARLY MURDERED should be totally forgotten.

What?
We have to be interested in the same history that you are?
He didn't die, no big deal.
What was the date that Lincoln was assassinated? Garfield? McKinley? Kennedy?
These were actual assassinations. Bet you don't know without looking them up.
There were 13 attempted assassinations.
Do you know the presidents and dates for all of them?

I'd bet not.
When was the date of the Declaration of Independence?
or the beginning of the Civil War?
or when Lewis and Clark set off?
or Pearl Harbor?
or the First Lunar Landing?
PFFFT! WHO CARES?
History sux...turn on "The Kardashians" or "Dancing With the Stars"
I remember that morning very well. A coworker passed the word after getting a phone call that the president had been shot. At the morning coffee break, it was all anyone could talk about. We were all concerned that it might be a lot more serious than what the news was reporting.
