The explosion was in Vacaville--which for anyone who knows anything about the Bay Area, isn't that close to San Francisco--it's about an hour away and 3 counties removed from SF and closer to Sacramento. No one from Northern California would ever refer to Vacaville as a San Francisco suburb, as it wasn't until recently that it was even considered part of the Bay Area.
Also the police on the scene said that it wasn't a pipe bomb and they didn't find any additional bombs.
Don't let facts get in the way of a good hatero story.
Living in south Louisiana, I'm familiar with how the AP reports a relatively unknown town being a suburb of or near a known city even if it's about an hour or two away. Has there been any reports of exactly what type of bomb exploded and the condition of the old man? News on the radio said he was 80 and lost some fingers.
