Two-thirds of oil and gas leases in Gulf inactive - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110329/ap_on_re_us/us_obama_energy_4 - broken link)

Quote:
WASHINGTON – An Interior Department report to be released Tuesday says more than two-thirds of offshore oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico are sitting idle.

According to the report, obtained by The Associated Press, those inactive swaths of the Gulf could potentially hold more than 11 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The report also shows that 45 percent of all onshore oil and gas leases are inactive.
Well, I guess he's following through with his transformation of America. Who knew he meant transforming America by destroying it, through job killing, economy killing policies like this?

His illegal moratorium, his slow walking of the permit process, his rescinding of already approved gas and oil leases.....what in the world is he thinking, other than to cripple the US...intentionally?

Of course. He needs an energy crisis to send America into chaos, then he'll shout some code speak phrases at some useful idiots and they will be out causing that chaos heading America into a Communist revolution.

Before an election? Pretty stupid thing to do if you ask me. I just think he can't help bowing to his far left, liberal ideology. We have concrete proof how ruinous that ideology truly is.

I have to wonder if Secretary of Interior and President Obama really are so stupid as to believe that all that inactivity is caused by the illegal moratorium. They say, "Do not drill" and then make noises about those who don't do it. I have to agree with Sour D about the main reason for all this talk.

All part of the plan. And if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

"under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket"-The most dangerous U.S. President ever, Barack Obama

Each of us has a part to play in a new future that will benefit all of us. As we recover from this recession, the transition to clean energy has the potential to grow our economy and create millions of jobs -– but only if we accelerate that transition. Only if we seize the moment. And only if we rally together and act as one nation –- workers and entrepreneurs; scientists and citizens; the public and private sectors."
-President Obama, June 15, 2010

I have said for a long time his agenda has been to destroy America financially and this is just one of the steps he has taken to do so.

If you closely look at his decisions that are linked to money you will see his entire goal has been to destroy anything and everything that can get in his way to meet his agenda.

He is carrying out the objective of another person who hates America and who has said he wanted to destroy America financially. Obama is just carrying the water for the other guy.

Best thing is America finally woke up to this anti American and has proudly stood up against him to stop his anti American and radical changing of America.

Everyone needs to be pro active in voicing your opinions and thoughts against this radical nutcase and we must stop him from destroying our country until we can get his sorry butt out of our WH and end the largest political mistake in American history.

Wow, a whopping 11 Billion barrels. That will last the US a whole 550 days, or for the not too smart, 1 year, 6 months and 5 days.

I guess none of you are bright enough to figure out that the reason the "oil countries" don't have any industry or manufacturing is because oil and natural gas development sucks investment cash right out of the economy.

And you all will be the first to whine and snivel about more manufacturing jobs lost. So you would all gladly sacrifice more jobs for enough oil to drive your SUVs for another 18 months. That's brilliant.

So why don't you big brains tell us what kind of oil is sitting under the Gulf?

It really does matter whether that is heavy, intermediate or light oil and whether nor not is high sulfur or low sulfur, but I guess you guys wouldn't know anything about that.

Hey genius, "oil" countries only have oil production because THAT IS ALL THEY HAVE! They are 3rd world countries that couldn't produce a mouse trap due to their high illiteracy rates. We should be drilling here instead of helping other countries do it.
