Choice is the very founding of Liberty.

The judge gave them a choice.

Interpreted by the people that composed it, is much different than that after Madeline Murry O`Hair got her say.

The government is to stay out of GODS business(King George for example), but says nothing of GOD staying out of the Governments business.
So we should turn our courts into a Sunday school?

How would you feel about a choice between jail or a doing a workbook on the attributes of the Koran?

What if the choice becomes; go to jail or convert to Islam!

Does this help you to see it in context?

You realize that throughout history people were given "choices?" They went something like this: Convert to our religion or be punished!

You are behind the times!
They use to have Church services in the US capitol building every Sunday.

As long as there was a choice, Id be OK with it.

That judge needs to write an essay on the constitution. Then he needs to step down and never practice law again.

Is that the case here? Are you able to answer the question or are you just going to whine about "what ifs"?

I'm against forced conversions. I've never suggested we force anyone to convert. But I am not against giving someone a choice of an alternative sentence.

what law is being violated by it?
Do you just not get that this is a major and direct violation of the Establishment clause?

The judge had no secular choices here? Eh?
