Was Mahatma Gandhi gay? A new book by Pulitzer-Prize winning author Joseph Lelyveld claims the god-like Indian figure not only left his wife for a man, but also harbored racist attitudes.
Well Gandh has had many books written about him ;none of which even suggest this;so I put it down as pure rumor to sale a book. His life and times where very well documented. This guy I believe has a agenda.By the way he never protrayed himself as god-like and totally reject any such believers in his time.
no one was without sin except for Jesus on this earth. Gandhi had a message and did good for India's people. If only people stopped accepting to be controlled by evil, by accepting and trusting in the Lord, and fearing no man, change would come.
Wow, interesting and I don't know what to think of this.
The way I see it, one cannot sell a book now based on the premise that gandhi was a nice man - it is old news. You got to come up with 'new' research which has somehow been hidden for a century - overlook his positives and 'expose' him as a racist etc to sell books.

Just because it's in a book doesn't mean we need to trust it. Especially, when it hasn't been mentioned in other books about him. A little thing like leaving your wife for a man would not have been easily overlooked. Its veracity is highly questionable.
At this particular time, there is strong motivation for portraying prominent people as "other" sexual preferenced (true or not - and if they are dead, who can prove or disprove it?) It helps promote an agenda.
Lots of good books out there. This doesn't sound like one of them.
